Chicago Jazz Pianist Gloria Vanderbilt Morgan Dies

CHICAGO (AP) _ Gloria Vanderbilt Morgan, a Chicago jazz pianist, vocalist and composer, has died of cancer. She was 52.
Ms. Morgan, who died Sunday at Michael Reese Hospital, played with such well-known performers as the Roger Pemberton Band, Bobbi Wilson, Sasha Dalton and the Jazz Members Big Band.
She was a frequent performer on the Chicago jazz circuit and had recorded several albums.
She was born in Savannah, Ga., but spent most of her life in the Chicago area. She began studying music at age 5 and started performing when she was 12.
She is survived by a son and four daughters.
