BOSTON (AP) _ Chris Carr, the free-agent guard who spent last season with Golden State and Chicago, signed with the Boston Celtics on Monday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Carr, 26, appeared in 57 games last season, averaging 9.3 points and 3.0 rebounds. The former Southern Illinois star also has played for Phoenix, Minnesota and New Jersey.

``We are excited to have Chris on our team,'' Celtics coach Rick Pitino said. ``He adds to our athleticism and gives us additional scoring at the wing spot.''
