France defender Mathieu cleared to play after knee injury

BARCELONA, Spain (AP) — France defender Jeremy Mathieu has been cleared to play by Barcelona's doctors after recovering from surgery on his right knee.
Mathieu underwent the operation on March 31 after he was hurt while playing for France against Russia.
The 32-year-old Mathieu returns with Barcelona leading the Spanish league with two rounds left. It will also play Sevilla in the Copa del Rey final on May 22.
Host nation France plays the opening match of the European Championship against Romania on June 10.
