Carolina's Brind'Amour Injured

PITTSBURGH (AP) _ Carolina Hurricanes center Rod Brind'Amour sustained a concussion and was removed from the ice on a stretcher after being checked into the boards by Pittsburgh's Bob Boughner on Monday night.
Brind'Amour had his head immobilized, but was alert and moving his arms when he was taken to the Hurricanes' locker room for evaluation.
Team officials said Brind'Amour was sitting up.
Boughner, who received a major penalty for boarding and a game misconduct, had both arms up when he pushed Brind'Amour into the boards late in the second period.
Brind'Amour, acquired from Philadelphia on Jan. 23, has four goals and nine assists in 31 games for Carolina. Boughner came to the Penguins on March 13 from Nashville in an effort to beef up Pittsburgh's defense.
