MONTAGUE, Mass. (AP) — A Massachusetts man has been arrested after leading police on a roughly 50-mile chase that reached speeds of 120 miles per hour on Interstate 91.
Police say Anthony Fortunato, of Erving, is facing 11 charges, including driving without a valid license, following the chase that started Sunday morning in Springfield and ended in Turners Falls.
State police say the 20-year-old Fortunato dodged tire-deflation devices in Deerfield and Whately before his tires were punctured in Greenfield. Even then he continued to drive until he was stopped in Turners Falls and taken into custody.
He is also charged with failure to stop for police, speeding, negligent operation, unsafe lane changes, marked lane violations, breakdown lane violations and failure to signal.
It could not be determined if he has a lawyer.
