WEST WARWICK, R.I. (AP) — If you haven't seen it yet — chances are you'll want to after hearing this. Rap queen Missy Elliott is singing the praises of a Rhode Island woman who does a killer karaoke version of her 2002 hit "Work It." The woman, Mary Halsey of West Warwick, recently did the song at an outdoor party — and posted the performance on her Facebook page. Once Elliott saw it, she reposted it on her Twitter and Instagram accounts, adding: "just found out I have a FUNKY WHITE SISTER." So far, the video has gotten more than 7 million views — even though it clearly falls into the NSFW category.

MEREDITH, N.H. (AP) — You may remember Archie and his cartoon pals Betty, Veronica and Jughead hailed from the town of Riverdale. But these days, Archie is a permanent resident of Meredith, New Hampshire. A life-size bronze likeness of the red-haired, freckle-faced comic book icon now greets visitors of the town — in honor of the man who drew the characters. Bob Montana drew Archie and his crew from 1942 until his death in 1975 at age 54. The statue of Archie sitting on a park bench was officially unveiled yesterday in Meredith's Community Park to coincide with the town's 250th anniversary.

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. (AP) — This story stinks. Literally. Authorities in Pennsylvania are still trying to figure out how a loaded septic truck overturned and landed — wheels up — in someone's backyard pool. The head of the Conestoga Volunteer Fire Company says no one was hurt in the accident yesterday afternoon. But Larry Frankford says the incident has bruised the nostrils of anyone who has had to smell the result of the crash. He says "you can just use your imagination" to get a sense of the unpleasant smell that would result from the combination of diesel fuel, oil — and human sewage. Crews were able remove the sewage before using a rotating wrecker to yank the truck from the pool.
