ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) — Authorities say four people have been arrested after they launched fireworks at firefighters and police at an apartment complex in North Carolina.
Asheville Police spokeswoman Christina Hallingse said the people first started firing roman candles and firework shells at firefighters around 10:45 p.m. Wednesday.
Hallingse says they kept launching fireworks at police who came to help.
Authorities say officers fired pepper spray balls to stop the assault at the Pisgah View Apartments.
Hallingse said in a statement no one was injured, but several vehicles owned by the city of Asheville were damaged.
Hallingse says 34-year-old Angela Marko faces assault with a deadly weapon on a government official and drug charges, while the other three were charged with resisting public officers. It wasn't known if they had lawyers.
