Feb. 09, 1987
PITTSBURGH (AP) _ Westinghouse Electric Corp. said Monday it had terminated discussions with Gould Inc. concerning the purchase of Gould's Philadelphia naval switchgear and circuit breaker division.
Westinghouse said the decision was mutual. Westinghouse withheld the reasons for scrapping the deal.
The two companies said in January that they had agreed in principle to the sale.
The Gould unit employs about 600 workers in Philadelphia.
