RUTLAND, Vt. (AP) — A Vermont beautification project has made a $25,000 donation to the city of Rutland to help complete the Center Street Marketplace project.
The marketplace will be an open air meeting place constructed in former city alleyways. The Rutland Herald reports that beautification project Rutland Blooms will be additionally placing a sculpture for the project.
Mayor David Allaire says the project has involved tremendous collaboration between the city, businesses and state government, so it is fitting a final piece will be "funded through Rutland Blooms, which is the epitome of collaboration in the city of Rutland."
The $25,000 is a dedicated grant that will pay for landscaping and plantings in the marketplace.
