PHOENIX (AP) _ Lisa Leslie had 15 points, eight rebounds and five of Los Angeles' WNBA-record 13 blocked shots as the Sparks beat the Phoenix Mercury 75-61 Wednesday night for their seventh straight victory.

But the Mercury, trying to avenge a 73-50 defeat in Los Angeles on July 5, trailed 31-22 at halftime and never got closer after Dixon hit a baseline jumper to start the second half.

Figgs made one of her four 3-pointers with 11:02 to play, giving the Sparks a 55-40 lead, and gave her team its biggest lead, 60-42, with another 3 with 8:30 to go.

The Mercury (6-11) had an 11-6 lead after Lisa Harrison's jumper 4:04 into the game, but then went 9 1/2 minutes without a field goal.

The Sparks took advantage with a 21-2 run and moved ahead 27-13 with 7:53 left in the first half. Leslie had only two baskets during the surge, but her 3-pointer at the 11:57 mark broke a 13-all tie, and Los Angeles never trailed again.
