Police: 20 golf carts vandalized at country club
Jul. 07, 2015
STONEHAM, Mass. (AP) — Police say vandals have struck a country club in Stoneham, damaging or defacing 20 golf carts.
A swastika was spray-painted on one of the carts, and another had been driven into a tree.
Police Chief James McIntyre says the vandalism was discovered after a report of a break-in at the pro shop at the Bear Hill Country Club.
The club is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to any arrests and prosecution in the case.
McIntyre says 14 carts were spray painted inside a garage, including four that had the words "Don't lock us out," painted on the windshields. The paint is believed to be the same kind the club uses to mark the golf course.
Six carts were found on the course, including the one with the swastika.
