ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) _ Mo Vaughn reached the 100-RBI mark for the fifth time, driving in five runs with a homer and double as the Anaheim Angels beat the Tampa Bay Devil Rays 8-5 Wednesday night.

Vaughn, limited to DH duty for the second straight game because of lingering soreness in his shin, put the Angels ahead 3-2 in the fifth inning with his 29th homer.

Vaughn's 432-foot drive to right-center followed a two-out single by Darin Erstad and a walk to Jim Edmonds.

In the eighth, Vaughn hit a two-run double that gave him 101 RBIs in his first season with the Angels. Vaughn has 26 RBIs in his last 22 games.

Gary DiSarcina drove in two runs as the Angels completed a three-game sweep. They scored 18 of their 24 runs in the series with two outs.

Jarrod Washburn (3-4) allowed four runs and six hits in 6 2-3 innings. He was lifted after Miguel Cairo's RBI double trimmed Anaheim's lead to 6-3.

Al Levine relieved Washburn and surrendered an RBI triple by Tony Graffanino. Cairo and Graffanino each drove in two runs.

Dan Wheeler (0-3) held the Angels scoreless on two hits in the first four innings. He was charged with five runs and five hits in five-plus innings in his fifth major league start.

Notes: The Angels have to go 6-3 the rest of the way to avoid finishing with fewer than 70 victories in a 162-game season for the first time since 1980, when they had a franchise-worst 65-95 mark under current Toronto manager Jim Fregosi. ... Vaughn, who has missed 23 games because of injuries and ailments, needs one more home run for his fifth consecutive 30-homer season. ... Jose Canseco, who struck out three times on Tuesday night after fouling a ball hard off his left shin, sat out the game.
