Teen Admits Killing Sex Attacker After 7 Years
Jun. 21, 1989
NEW YORK (AP) _ A teen-ager carried out a seven-year vendetta by stabbing to death a man who sexually assaulted him and another boy in 1982, police said.
Joseph Wolske, 17, surrendered to police before dawn Sunday and confessed to the 1988 slaying of 67-year-old Jay Petzold, who was found dead in his Brooklyn apartment, police said. Wolske was charged with murder.
The Daily News quoted a police source it did not name as saying Wolske arrived at Petzold's apartment, asking ''Remember me?''
The teen-ager then forced his way inside, battered Petzold into unconsciousness and stabbed him several times, the News said.
In 1982, Petzold pleaded guilty to sodomizing 10-year-old Wolske and an 11- year-old friend. The retired transit worker, who admitted sexually abusing each boy several times in his apartment, was placed on probation.
