HOUSTON (AP) _ Brad Ausmus hit a three-run homer, leading Shane Reynolds and the Houston Astros over the Montreal Expos 6-2 Friday night.
Ausmus was in an 0-for-11 slump when he connected in the fourth inning.
Reynolds (10-10) gave up seven hits in his third complete game of the season. He struck out five and walked none.
Reynolds won for the second time in his last seven starts. He improved to 8-1 lifetime against Montreal.
Tony Armas (8-11) was tagged for five runs and 10 hits in four innings. He has lost six of his last seven decisions with a 6.33 ERA in that span.
Ausmus' homer highlighted Houston's five-run fourth inning.
Lance Berkman led off with a triple and scored on a single by Moises Alou. After a single by Daryle Ward, Ausmus hit his fourth home run. Jose Vizcaino added an RBI triple to cap the burst.
The Astros added a run in the seventh on an RBI single by Jeff Bagwell.
Montreal took a 1-0 lead in the first. Peter Bergeron led off with a single, Vizcaino made an error at shortstop on an attempted double play and Vladimir Guerrero hit an RBI single.
Lee Stevens led off the ninth with his 18th home run.
Notes: Tony Eusebio, who usually catches when Reynolds pitches, missed the start with a sprained right elbow. He is day-to-day ... Astros pitching coach Burt Hooten, was absent because of family business ... Montreal shortstop Orlando Cabrera has not committed an error in his last 34 games since June 24 at Pittsburgh ... Montreal RHP Hideki Irabu will throw off the mound Saturday for the second time since going on the disabled list June 14 with a right elbow strain.
