IN BRIEF:

BODY FOUND-NH: A man's body has been found near railroad tracks in Portsmouth. The body was found Friday morning by a cyclist.

OFFICER-INVOLVED SHOOTING: Police in New Hampshire are investigating an officer-involved shooting. WMUR-TV reports the shooting happened Thursday night near Manchester High School West. Police say a man was injured by shattering glass during the shooting. He was taken to an area hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening.

CORRECTIONAL OFFICER STRUCK: Authorities say a correctional officer at the New Hampshire State Prison died after the bicycle he was riding was hit by a vehicle. The crash happened Wednesday afternoon in Concord.

DOWNEASTER INTERRUPTION: Amtrak says track improvements in Maine and New Hampshire will bring changes and interruptions to its Downeaster passenger rail train that goes from Freeport, Maine, to Boston. The work will begin affecting service on Saturday and continue until the middle of October. The track improvements are happening between Brunswick, Maine, and Dover, New Hampshire.
