WAYNESBORO, Miss. (AP) — A Mississippi man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for the 2014 shooting death of his girlfriend.
Wayne County Sheriff Jody Ashley tells WDAM-TV that Christopher Norman Bishop was sentenced Thursday, after pleading guilty June 25 to manslaughter. Bishop also faces counterfeit charges in a separate case.
Investigators say Bishop shot and killed 37-year-old Carla Gray on April 14, 2014, in the home they shared. Officers found guns and methamphetamine in the home.
Bishop initially was charged with murder and possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.
