Sep. 13, 2000
BOULDER, Colo. (AP) _ Tom McMahon, Colorado's co-defensive coordinator and secondary coach, was scheduled to have surgery Wednesday to remove a cancerous tumor.
McMahon was diagnosed with lung cancer in June. He has been undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatments since July.
Co-defensive coordinator Vince Okruch will coach the secondary in McMahon's absence, and Matt Russell will assume Okruch's role with the outside linebackers. Colorado faces Washington on Saturday.
