Hall Named Assistant Photo Chief

WASHINGTON (AP) _ John E. Hall, deputy managing editor for photos and graphics at the South Florida Sun-Sentinel since 1992, has been named assistant bureau chief for photos for The Associated Press in Washington.
Hall's appointment was announced Thursday by Chief of Bureau Sandy Johnson.
Hall has worked as a photographer and photo manager for 30 years. His experience includes work at the Sun and The Gazette-Telegraph of Colorado Springs, Colo.; The Dallas Times Herald; and The Oregonian of Portland. At the Sun-Sentinel, based in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., he led a staff of more than 40 photographers and graphic artists.
Hall was born in Jackson, Tenn., and grew up in Colorado Springs. He succeeds Fred Sweets, who has become senior editor for training and development.
