HOUSTON (AP) _ A man arrested in a nationally televised drug bust received a 30-day jail sentence after pleading no contest to charges of marijuana possession and illegally carrying a weapon.

Eric Alley, 38, was sentenced Thursday by Harris County Criminal Court at Law Judge Don Hendrix.

Alley was given credit for 10 days he has already spent in jail since his arrest Dec. 2.

The raid on the Channelview house where Alley was living was televised live on Geraldo Rivera's two-hour program called ''American Vice: The Doping of a Nation.''

Terry Rouse, who was arrested with Alley, had a charge of cocaine possession filed against her dismissed last week after a judge said there was no probable cause to believe she was guilty.

Ms. Rouse, 28, had been living temporarily at the house as partial payment for painting it.

Alley's attorney, Angelica Landa, said her client pleaded no contest because he ''just wants to get this behind him.''
