PITTSBURGH (AP) _ The Cleveland Indians purchased the contract of right-hander Jose Santiago from Triple-A Buffalo on Sunday to bolster a bullpen depleted by consecutive 15-inning games.

The Indians also optioned left-hander Brian Tallet to Buffalo and moved outfielder Ellis Burks from the 15-day to the 60-day disabled list. Burks will have season-ending right elbow surgery Monday.

Santiago was 0-1 with a 3.94 ERA in 15 games with Cleveland earlier this season. With Buffalo, he was 2-0 with two saves and an 0.90 ERA in 13 relief appearances.

Tallet was 0-1 with a 3.77 ERA in four games, two starts, with the Indians. He started the Indians' 5-4, 15-inning loss to the Pirates on Friday night.
