WOODBRIDGE, N.J. (AP) — Police are investigating after a New Jersey man reported he was punched in the face and his car's windows were smashed by a group of motorcyclists in a racially-motivated attack.

Police say the family was traveling from New York's Kennedy International Airport to their home in New Jersey when they were attacked just after midnight Sunday in Woodbridge.

The 33-year-old driver told police as many as six motorcyclists surrounded their minivan while they were stopped at a red light. Police say the men smashed the car's windows and used profanities while calling the driver Indian.

The driver was struck in the face while his wife and two children were in the car.

A mirror on a second minivan traveling with the victim's family was also damaged.
