DNC Chairman Shuffles Staff

WASHINGTON (AP) _ Joe Andrew, new chairman of the Democratic National Committee, is shuffling his political shop to make room for two new staffers, one a former aide to Jesse Jackson, the other President Clinton's scheduler.
Carlottia Scott, chief of staff for Rep. Barbara Lee, D-Calif., and a former campaign aide for Jackson's presidential efforts, will be the DNC's chief of politics.
Jeff Forbes, the White House's top scheduler, will be chief of strategy for the committee.
Scott and Forbes split the workload of former political director Joe Alper, who is leaving the DNC for the private sector.
In other changes at the DNC:
_Rod O'Connor, director of the DNC's vice presidential liaison office, will become its chief of staff.
_Pat Ewing, former communications director for Vice President Al Gore, will be senior adviser to Andrew.
_Regena Thomas, base vote director at the DNC, will be the committee's national campaign director. She also is a former Jackson aide.
The committee already has announced that Rob Engel has moved over from the House Campaign Committee to be executive director at the DNC.
