BISHOP MISCONDUCT ALLEGATION

HARRISBURG, Pa. — A Pennsylvania prosecutor says he's cleared an Indiana Roman Catholic bishop of any criminal behavior or misconduct regarding a now-deceased county jail inmate who he counseled while serving in Harrisburg in the 1990s. Dauphin County District Attorney Fran Chardo issued a lengthy statement Thursday that categorically cleared Fort Wayne-South Bend Bishop Kevin Rhoades and said "the leaking of what turned out to be an unfounded report did unnecessary harm."
