MAPUTO, Mozambique (AP) _ A passenger train and a freight train collided in southern Mozambique on Saturday, killing about 200 people and injuring hundreds more, Mozambique's transport minister said.
The accident happened Saturday morning at Moamba, about 40 miles south of the capital, Maputo.
There were conflicting reports about what caused the crash, but Transport Minister Tomas Salomao told radio Mozambique from the scene that it appeared to be the result of human error.
Between 300 and 400 people were injured, he said.
