Thousands without power after storm sweeps across Maine

Utility crews are working to restore power to more than 10,000 homes and businesses still without power in Maine.
A nor'easter dumped more than a foot of snow in some places before moving out of Maine.
The National Weather Service said Friday that the town of Hartford in Oxford County recorded 20.5 inches of snow. Sanford recorded 19 inches in hard-hit York County. In Cumberland County, nearly 16 inches of snow at the Portland International Jetport.
Slick roads were blamed for a 14-vehicle pileup Thursday evening on the Maine Turnpike. Police blamed icy roads and excessive speed.
On Thursday, state government along with hundreds of schools and businesses were closed. Most had reopened as of Friday morning.
