Jan. 02, 1998
PINE BLUFF, Ark. (AP) _ A man running around a hospital with a rubber chicken and a gun shot himself Friday and died outside the emergency room.
Ronald Clowers, 48, stuck the gun in his mouth and pulled the trigger after a police officer ordered him to drop the weapon.
Witnesses said Clowers first went inside the emergency room at Jefferson Regional Medical Center and talked to some people before walking out and firing off a few shots outside. He then ran around to another side of the building, where he was met by the police officer.
Clowers' former wife is a nurse at the hospital but was not on duty at the time.
