SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) _ The Phoenix Coyotes signed centers Travis Green and Daniel Briere to one-year contracts Monday.

Terms of the deals were not disclosed.

Green finished tied for third on the team in goals and points last season with 25 goals and 21 assists in 78 games.

He was also the club's best faceoff man, leading the Coyotes in faceoffs taken (1,322) and winning percentage (55.6).

The 29-year-old from British Columbia was acquired by the Coyotes in a trade with Anaheim in June 1999.

Briere, who split last season between Phoenix and the AHL's Springfield Falcons, had one goal and one assist in 13 games with the Coyotes and played in one playoff game against the Colorado Avalanche

For the Falcons, the 22-year-old Gatineau, Quebec, native finished second in scoring but had the club's highest point-per-game ratio with 29 goals and 42 assists in 58 games.

He was drafted by the Coyotes in 1996.
