AVON, Mass. (AP) — A woman working her first day at a new job as died while crossing a Massachusetts street to visit a friend for lunch.
The Norfolk district attorney's office says 19-year-old Ariel Dineen, of Brockton, was crossing an Avon street at about 1:45 p.m. Saturday when she slipped and was hit by a passing Jeep.
Police Chief David Martineau says the roads were slick following rain.
Dineen was taken to the hospital with serious head trauma, where she was later pronounced dead.
