THIBODAUX, La. (AP) _ Darren Howard, the top draft of the New Orleans Saints, signed a five-year contract Monday, leaving the team with no holdouts.

The Kansas State linebacker, a second-round draft choice, was on the field Monday as the Saints entered the third day of training camp.

To make room for Howard, linebacker Terrence Miles was cut.

Howard, 6-foot-3 and 281 pounds, had been the only remaining holdout after free-agent linebacker Darrin Smith signed a one-year contract Sunday.

The Saints had no first-round picks this year because of a trade former coach Mike Ditka engineered the previous year to get running back Ricky Williams.
