School bus driver denies sexual abuse charges
Jun. 27, 2013
WAUKEGAN, Ill. (AP) — A suburban Chicago school bus driver has pleaded not guilty to charges she sexually abused a teenager.
The News Sun reports (http://bit.ly/125NP3d) that an attorney for 32-year-old Kristin Miks of Wildwood entered the pleas Wednesday during an arraignment. Miks is charged with criminal sexual assault, aggravated criminal sexual abuse and indecent solicitation of a child.
Miks was arrested after the victim's mother found messages from Miks referring to the encounters and reported it to the police.
Authorities say the teen has no connection to the Woodland Community Consolidated School District 50 or Miks' employment as a driver.
Miks was suspended from her job of five years after district officials learned she was under criminal investigation.
