SEATTLE (AP) _ Horace Grant scored a season-high 26 points Tuesday night and Gary Payton added 21 as the SuperSonics beat the Denver Nuggets for the 14th straight time in Seattle with a 106-93 victory.
Grant shot 13-of-17 from the field and pulled down 12 rebounds as Seattle (42-32) pulled within a half-game of Sacramento in the battle for seventh place in the Western Conference standings. The Kings (42-31) lost at Dallas.
Payton had 13 assists and Jelani McCoy equaled a season-high with 12 points off the bench.
George McCloud topped the Nuggets with 28 points on 10-for-15 shooting. Antonio McDyess had 17 points, 15 rebounds and four blocked shots for Denver.
