Anchorage police release name of man found shot in car

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Anchorage police have released the name of a man found shot and mortally wounded last week in a car on the city's east side.
Police say the man was 35-year-old Jonathon Smith.
Police shortly before 9:30 a.m. Aug. 14 received reports of a shooting on Muldoon Circle. They found Smith wounded in the driver's seat of a 2008 tan Chrysler 300 with the license plate CREEPN.
Smith had suffered life-threatening injuries. He was rushed to a hospital and he died on Wednesday, two days later.
Police say there are no other details to release immediately. Investigators are asking people with information, such as surveillance video, to contact them directly or through Anchorage Crime Stoppers.
