Production Goes Up This Week

DETROIT (AP) _ Domestic automakers were scheduled to produce 254,154 cars and light trucks this week, up from last week's 244,048, Ward's Automotive Reports said Thursday.
This week's production is higher than the same week a year ago, in which 236,145 cars and light trucks were produced, the trade journal said.
U.S. automakers were scheduled to make 165,790 cars this week, compared with 157,360 a week ago and 153,757 in the same week in 1987.
Light truck production for the week was scheduled at 88,364, compared with last week's 86,688 and last year's 82,388.
Canadian automakers were to build 17,527 cars this week, down from 20,870 a week ago and from last year's 22,925.
Canadian light truck production was scheduled at 20,411, compared with 21,421 a week ago and 17,659 in the same week last year.
