Udinese coach Guidolin extends contract to 2017
Jul. 18, 2013
UDINE, Italy (AP) — Udinese coach Francesco Guidolin has extended his contract with the Serie A club until the end of the 2016-2017 season.
Guidolin says "it's not true that I was not considered by the big teams, but that I preferred to stay in Udine and I'm very proud of that. I'm very happy to be tied to this club for so long."
The 57-year-old Guidolin has been at Udinese since 2010 and the club has taken great strides under him, with its third-place finish in 2012 being the highest in the club's history.
Udinese finished fourth in Guidolin's first season — qualifying for the Champions League for the first time — and fifth last campaign.
