Dolphins WR Green Sprains Ankle
Sep. 30, 1999
DAVIE, Fla. (AP) _ Miami Dolphins wide receiver Yatil Green, plagued by injuries during his three-year career, sprained his left ankle Thursday and is listed as questionable for Monday night's game against the Buffalo Bills.
``It's a slight ankle sprain,'' Dolphins coach Jimmy Johnson said. ``We don't really know if there's going to be any swelling on it or not, but right now we're listing him as questionable. We'll know more tomorrow after we see if it swells up.''
Green, a backup who has two catches for 13 yards this season, rolled the same ankle in training camp, but that was minor compared to the injuries the 6-foot-2 Miami native suffered during his first two years in the league.
Green, the 15th overall pick in the 1997 draft, missed his rookie season with a torn ligament in his right knee. Then he ruptured the ligament graft in the same knee during training camp in 1998.
Johnson said that if Green does not play, receiver Larry Shannon would be activated from the practice squad.
