PLANO, Texas (AP) _ Denbury Resources Inc. (DNR) on Tuesday reported second-quarter earnings of $30.2 million.

On a per-share basis, the Plano, Texas-based company said it had net income of 7 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were 13 cents per share.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 10 cents per share.

The independent oil and gas company posted revenue of $387.1 million in the period.

The company's shares closed at $4.47. A year ago, they were trading at $1.38.
