HOUSTON (AP) _ Fashion designer Bill Blass was hospitalized today after a mild stroke, doctors said.
Blass, 76, became ill Thursday while in Houston for a benefit luncheon for the Museum of Fine Arts.
Tests indicated no evidence of paralysis or other lasting damage. Doctors said today they expected Blass to spend the day in Methodist Hospital's intensive care unit for further tests.
``He's doing fine,'' said Eleanor Lambert, a Blass spokeswoman. ``It was just a very slight stroke and he's in the hands of a doctor for observation.''
Blass, one of the premier U.S. fashion designers, said he has felt fine recently except for some problems with pinched nerves in his legs.
