MIAMI (AP) — A U.S. tourist who died while scuba diving in the Cayman Islands has been identified as an 80-year-old Florida man.
Cayman Islands police spokeswoman Janet Dougall says the tourist was William Lemuel Lawson Jr. of Temple Terrace, a city near Tampa. She said Monday that there appeared to be nothing suspicious about the circumstances surrounding his death.
Lawson was found floating Sunday afternoon while he was with a group of divers at a site known as the Double Wall off Cayman Brac. He was treated at the scene before being evacuated to a local hospital, where he was declared dead.
