MILWAUKEE (AP) — Ryan Braun was held out of the Milwaukee Brewers' starting lineup for the second straight game while recovering from a strain in his right side.

He took batting practice Wednesday night before the game against Colorado but felt some discomfort, Milwaukee manager Ron Roenicke said.

The Brewers are off Thursday, which played a role in the decision to keep him out of the lineup, Roenicke said.

"We want to make sure that when we get him back out there, we're able to keep him out there," Roenicke said.

He was injured crashing into the right field wall while catching a line drive from Colorado's Justin Morneau's drive on Monday. He had an MRI on Tuesday.
