BIRMINGHAM, England (AP) _ Rain washed out play in the DFS Classic Sunday, with Steffi Graf trailing Nathalie Tauziat 3-0 in the opening semifinal match.

The other semifinal, between Elena Likhovtseva and Yayak Basuki, did not start.

Frustrated officials of the grass-court tournament will attempt to get in the semifinals and final Monday, but may be forced indoors to complete the tournament. Rain wiped out all play Saturday.

Graf, formerly the world's No. 1 player who celebrated her 29th birthday Sunday, is playing only her third event of the year following knee surgery and other injuries.
