Sri Lanka fined for slow over rate
Nov. 22, 2013
COLOMBO, Sri Lanka (AP) — Sri Lanka has been fined for maintaining a slow over rate in the final Twenty20 match it won against New Zealand on Thursday.
Match referee Chris Broad imposed a 10 percent fine on each player's match fee and doubled that percentage on captain Dinesh Chandimal after Sri Lanka was found to be one over behind time, the International Cricket Council said in a statement.
Sri Lanka won the match by eight wickets at Pallekele International Stadium and won the two-match series 1-0 after the first match was washed out.
