ST. LOUIS (AP) — Brooks Koepka (KEHP'-kuh) heads into the final round of the PGA Championship with a two-stroke lead over Adam Scott. Koepka is trying to become the fifth player in history to win the U.S. Open and PGA in the same year. Eleven players start the day within four shots of the lead, including Tiger Woods.
NEW YORK (AP) — The Texas Rangers have activated outfielder Delino DeShields from the seven-day concussion disabled list before their series finale against the New York Yankees. DeShields was batting ninth today and playing center field. In a corresponding move, Texas optioned outfielder/infielder Drew Robinson to Triple-A Round Rock. DeShields was placed on the disabled list on Aug. 4 with concussion symptoms.
CHICAGO (AP) — The Cleveland Indians have put slugger Edwin Encarnacion (ehn-kar-nah-see-OHN') on the disabled list because of swelling in his left biceps. Manager Terry Francona made the announcement after the AL Central leaders beat the Chicago White Sox 3-1 last night. Encarnacion left Friday night's game and had an MRI in Cleveland yesterday.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The Tennessee Titans have agreed to terms with linebacker Tony Washington, outside linebacker Davond Dade and defensive lineman Francis Kallon. The Titans waived linebacker and tight end Nick DeLuca and defensive back Josh Kalu.
PITTSFORD, N.Y. (AP) — The Buffalo Bills have shuffled defensive tackles by signing Tyrunn Walker and reaching an injury settlement to release John Hughes. Walker joins his third team in three years. He spent last season with the Los Angeles Rams, three seasons with New Orleans and two with Detroit. Hughes was signed when the Bills opened training camp last month, and was injured during Buffalo's first preseason game Thursday.
