IRS Holding Problem-Solving Day
May. 15, 1998
WASHINGTON (AP) _ Another round of ``problem-solving days'' is coming Saturday from the Internal Revenue Service in 44 cities and towns nationwide, with a special emphasis on small businesses.
The problem-solving sessions were created after last fall's Senate Finance Committee hearings into the agency's mistreatment of taxpayers. The IRS said it has assisted 25,000 taxpayers since the special sessions began last November.
Small business tax problems will be the focus of the sessions, but any taxpayer may attend. Each of the 44 IRS offices will offer free small business tax information and lend educational videos on a first-come, first-served basis.
