JAKARTA, Indonesia (AP) _ More than 30 Indonesians were feared dead after a ferry sank at sea between Java and the resort island of Bali, a local official said today.
Three bodies have been found and 49 people were rescued after the accident Wednesday night, said Karngun Sudono, an Indonesian seaport official in the East Javan town of Ketapang.
The 432-ton ferry sank an hour after departing on a regular trip from Ketapang to the Bali port of Gilimanuk, carrying 17 vehicles and about 80 people. The cause of the accident was not known, Sudono said.
