MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) _ Jeff Bower of Southern Mississippi and Brad Scott of South Carolina will coach the South in the Blue-Gray All Star Football Classic, while Ted Tollner of San Diego State and Mike Bellotti of Oregon will handle the North team.

Charles ``Fats'' Jones, the game's executive director, announced the coaching selections Tuesday. Jones also revealed that a dozen players from Southeastern Conference schools will participate in the nationally televised game on Christmas Day.

Bower will handle the South defense and Scott will coach the offense. Toller is responsible for the North offense, and Bellotti will take the North defense, Jones said.

Players begin arriving for the game Dec. 19, with practice beginning the next day in front of pro scouts.
