CHICAGO (AP) _ Dominique Canty scored 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds in leading No. 8 Alabama to an 87-67 victory over DePaul in the title game of the Moran Classic on Saturday night.
The Crimson Tide (5-0) used a full-court press to cause 11 steals and 21 turnovers while dominating the boards 50-30.
The Blue Demons (1-2) were paced by Briana Fitzgerald's 23 points while Stacy Krumrei added 14.
Launda Williams and Shondra Johnson each had 12 points for Alabama.
Alabama took the led for good at 6-4. Canty, a Chicago native, scored 13 first-half points as the Tide led by as many as 10 points on its way to a 41-33 margin at the break.
A 3-pointer by Krumrei pulled the Demons as close as they would get in the second half, 41-36.
The Tide opened up a 60-46 lead and stayed in front by nine to 22 points the rest of the way.
