ATLANTA (AP) _ Starting point guard Mookie Blaylock and rookie Ed Gray were placed in the injured list Friday by the Atlanta Hawks.

The injuries left the Hawks with only 10 players for Friday night's game against the Washington Wizards _ including just two guards, Steve Smith and Eldridge Recasner.

Blaylock, in and out of the lineup for weeks with a strained left groin and quadriceps, is expected to miss 10 days to two weeks.

Blaylock aggravated the injury in Wednesday night's game against the Golden State Warriors, leaving the game after the first quarter.

He was injured early in Atlanta's game Jan. 2 at the Los Angeles Lakers, playing only five minutes. Blaylock missed Saturday's game at Utah. He also missed two games during December because of the strained groin.

Blaylock is averaging 11.9 points, with a team-leading 6.1 assists.

Gray was placed on the injured list with a sprained right foot.

Gray, earlier Friday was suspended for one game _ Friday night against Washington _ for failing to appear at a medical appointment Friday morning to have his foot examined. A later examination, including a CAT scan of the injury, was negative.

Gray's tardiness cost him about $8,800 _ one day's pay.

The Hawks said they expected to sign free agent guard Randy Livingston on Saturday to fill one of the spots on the roster.
