Tapia-Romero fight canceled

LAS VEGAS (AP) _ The junior bantamweight title fight between Albuquerque rivals Johnny Tapia and Danny Romero was canceled Monday in a dispute over insurance.
The Las Vegas Hilton said it canceled the fight because of the failure of promoter Bob Arum to ``provide certificate of insurance to the Hilton.''
The July 18 fight between Tapia, the WBO champ, and Romero, the IBF titleholder, has long been sold out in the 6,340-seat Hilton convention area.
A spokeswoman for Arum said he was traveling on a press tour with Oscar De La Hoya and was not immediately available for comment.
Hilton officials said refunds would be made to ticket holders.
