MILWAUKEE (AP) _ Aaron Hutchins scored 18 points to lead Marquette to a 59-52 victory Tuesday night over a cold-shooting Wisconsin team that was held without a field goal in the last 7:50 of the game.
Chris Crawford added 14 points for Marquette, including nine during an 18-4 run that erased a 12-point Wisconsin lead and put the Golden Eagles ahead 34-32 at halftime.
Hutchins then hit three 3-pointers in the first 12 minutes of the second half, as Marquette (7-2) gained its first lead after the break, 47-45, with eight minutes to play.
Hutchins, nursing an apparent left shoulder injury, left with 6:30 left yet returned two minutes later. Backup point guard Marcus West hit a huge running jumper in the lane for a 55-49 lead with just over four minutes left as the Golden Eagles pulled away.
The Badgers (8-2) shot only 27 percent (6-of-22) from the field in the second half.
Duany Duany scored 14 points for Wisconsin and Paul Grant and Sean Daugherty added 12 each.
The Badgers played without backcourt mates Sean Mason and Ty Calderwood, both out with knee injuries. Marquette was without team captain Anthony Pieper, who dislocated his shoulder Dec. 22.
Wisconsin ran into some early foul trouble, with Sam Okey and Grant each picking up a third foul in the first three minutes of the second half. Okey, Daugherty, Duany and Hennssy Auriantal each had two first-half fouls.
