Kobe Bryant Out With Broken Hand
Oct. 14, 1999
INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) _ Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant broke his right hand and will be sidelined at least six weeks.
Bryant's hand was sore in Wednesday night's 88-84 preseason loss to the Washington Wizards, but he played and had 18 points, five assists, four steals and no turnovers in 30 minutes.
Doctors examined Bryant's hand in Los Angeles on Thursday and X-rays revealed he had broken the fourth metacarpal bone, a team spokesman said. He was fitted with a cast.
It was not immediately clear how Bryant broke his hand.
